Life with a cast

Caroline is getting use to having this rather large, heavy, keep it dry and clean thing on her arm. She is learning how to keep her balance and play and eat with her right hand before she mostly used her left. Maybe we will get a righty out of this.

Last night was hard she woke 2 hours after putting her to bed she was uncomfortable! I gave her pain med. and comforted her she wined herself back to sleep. She woke up 3hours later crying a lot she was up for about 45 min. I called the dr this morning to make sure I was checking all the right things and everything sounded good to them if she doesn't sleep well tonight we will return to the dr. tomorrow.

I took the girls on a special outing this afternoon we all needed it. We cashed in our Summer Reading Program free ice cream vouchers at Baskin Robins then to the mall. Boy I thought I received a lot of attention with two cute girls, but dress them in matching dresses and put a "cute" cast on the little one and you catch every ones attention. I thought I was with a couple of rock stars. :)

Broken wrist and broken heart

Last night I was on our bed (4 feet high) with the girls and Caroline rolled right off. I knew it was a bad fall because of her cry and how she landed. Within 15 minutes my mom was here to watch Madison and we were off to the ER. In the car she stopped crying and was moving her arm better. You could tell she was still in pain when she lifted her arm very high. We were thinking maybe she hurt her shoulder or upper arm. We arrived at the ER about 8:30pm. The doctor ordered xrays for her shoulder and upper arm. While we were waiting she began playing more lifting her arm all the way up and was in a very good mood. The doctor came in after reading the xrays I claimed, "She is doing great lifting her arm and playing." He said she should be lifting her arm. Her arm is not broken it is her wrist." My jawed dropped and my heart broke. I knew something wasn't right, but when that was confirmed it really hurt. The doctor was great and assured us it would heal beautifully and said it was by accident that they even caught it because they were not suppose to take the xray of her wrist. We know it wasn't an accident that God was making sure our little girl was taken care of. We left the ER at 12:30am with a very sad and tired girl who had a splint on her arm (top pic.)

This morning to a specialist for a full arm cast. He also assured us that this was common and would heal beautifully. She is fast asleep right now. Madison went with grandma to play group and I hear she is very sad about sissy's arm.

Caroline's wrist will heal and my heart will too, it is just so hard to see your little ones hurt.

Leaving the Mini-Van Club

Yes we are going somewhere I did not see comming. We are believing to purchase a pop-up camper and we need a vehicle to pull it. So Jason started looking at SUV's that would be as safe as the van, have the same number of seats, and get the same gas miliage(keeping our fingers crossed). Well here is the Land Rover he purchased on Monday at an auction. We got an outstanding deal on it. Madison calls it the new mini-van.

Deb just a little something for you to look forward to when you come out in December.=0)

"More"

Caroline always makes her way to whomever is eating and is quick to sign more and says more.
She said thank you for the first time yesterday. Another word to add to her list that is growing rapidly. Her favorite words are Mama, Dadda, sissy, Nana, Papa, Grand (Grandma), Gram (Grandpa), Lola, Pup pup, Yes, No, Dink (drink), More, Bite, Nite-Nite, Bath, hi, bye-bye.

Caroline's Dedication

This past Sunday we enjoyed a day of God's Word fun, fellowship, and food. It was extra sweet since Caroline, Beau, Blake, Novalee, and many other children were dedicated. A time when the parents vow to God and those present to raise their childen in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4.) It was nice to have all of the grandparents and my siblings and their families to be apart of this and to know that they too guide and direct their children with God's Word day by day. It is a joy and priviledge that God has allowed Jason and I to rasie His children.

Madison was the first child to respond to an invitation extended by Revernd Wallace to have the children come up and help lead kid songs before the children went to children's fellowship. (Top picture) She is very bold and doesn't mind being in front of a large group.

Lots of people to visit with, lots of food to eat, and games to play. A fun day!

Play Group

I am so blessed to have a group of Moms that love to get the kids together for play group we meet every Wed. for the kids to play and for us Moms to support, laugh, and enjoy one anothers company. I love having a support group like this.

Another Good Day, only different

One huge thing I have learned while being a mom is don't look at success as getting lots of things accomplished. Before I had kids I was a major multi-task er. I could get lots done for myself and for others. Then when I became a stay at home mom one month before Madison was born I tried to get myself to slow down. Not an easy thing for me. I was always rushing and rushing to get lots done, but little kids don't always allow you to rush. So I continue to enjoy the moment, to not keep a to-do-list, to walk into the store at a very slow pace with a one year old holding my hand.

So today was a very slow day. I got up at 6:30 to make breakfast for Jason and saw him off then climbed back in bed. Caroline woke up at 8:00, Madison shortly after. Drove the girls to grandmas and I headed for the gym to embark on a new adventure.... swimming. I have always wanted to swim during my pregnancies so since this will probably be the last baby I thought I better start preparing since the plan is to get pg in the Fall. So I took a fitness swim class. LOVED IT! The instructor worked with each student with where they are at. I learned so much and may even have a new favorite work out. Came home hung clothes on the line and picked up a little. Strolled to Grandma just took my time and prayed. Picked up two very happy girls strolled home with them. Smelled flowers, stepped on aunt hills, picked up sticks, you know turned a 10 minute walk into a 30 minute walk. Ate lunch. Everyone took a 2 hour nap. Woke up to enjoy homemade Popsicles. I folded clothes outside and the girls played. Jason took the girls to Home Depot. Enjoyed only warming up a yummy supper exchange meal (thank you, Heather). Played outside some more. I put Caroline to bed while Madison and Jason made chocolate chip cookies. Jason, Madison, and I ate cookies on the desk. Madison is now in bed and I am thankful to reflect on another good day. I love my life. Thank you, Heavenly Father.

Cherry Picking

Kaylee "I could pick cherries all day." Madison was probably thinking I do pick cherries all day.

Madison picked two cherries on one stem and said, "Look best friends like me and KK."

Next making jam, syrup, and pies. Yum!

A Good Day

The girls slept in until 8:30 this morning. I think they were still recuperating from the long weekend. We cuddled ate pink pancakes got dressed and walked to Grandma's house. She always takes the girls Monday mornings. It is a blessing for everyone. I walked back home at a much faster pace. I cleaned, cooked, worked on finances, talked on the phone, ate another breakfast. Walked backed to Grandma's 2 hours later. Enjoyed a yummy lunch. Brought the girls home. Put Caroline to bed. Ms Mat and I made a cheesecake and banana bread. Played with water guns, bubbles, cleaned out the van, colored, played with peanut butter play dough. Then Caroline woke up and we spent a couple of hours outside enjoying the cool Colorado weather. Cooked supper, greeted Daddy, ate supper, cleaned up and wrested with the girls. Everyone went on a walk to the park. Came home did our bed time routine and now I'm ready for my bedtime routine. It was a good day.

Sisters

Random things I want to remember...

Madison taught Caroline to go down the stairs. I have been working with Caroline for awhile and today I asked M. show her and Caroline did it.

During our family fellowship Jason was praying and Madison just started holding Carolines hand during the prayer.

Happy 4th of July

Madison has been very patriotic lately. When driving with grandma they saw a red, white, and blue advertisement and Madison explained, "Look it's America!" After dressing her in a t-shirt with a flag on it she looked in the mirror and said, "I look beautiful. I love my flag" While patting her chest. At Ross she was very concerned the pole on the shopping cart did not have a flag on it.

No pictures to show all the fun, but it was a great 4th. The Kerrs, Callaways, and friends enjoyed a fun time at the Leaches. We ate yummy food, the kids played hard, rode horses (thank you Uncle Daniel), the guys shot their guns for fun, and we enjoyed an amazing firework show put on my Uncle John. Thankful our county sets aside a day to be thankful for the freedoms we enjoy.
