Broken wrist and broken heart

Last night I was on our bed (4 feet high) with the girls and Caroline rolled right off. I knew it was a bad fall because of her cry and how she landed. Within 15 minutes my mom was here to watch Madison and we were off to the ER. In the car she stopped crying and was moving her arm better. You could tell she was still in pain when she lifted her arm very high. We were thinking maybe she hurt her shoulder or upper arm. We arrived at the ER about 8:30pm. The doctor ordered xrays for her shoulder and upper arm. While we were waiting she began playing more lifting her arm all the way up and was in a very good mood. The doctor came in after reading the xrays I claimed, "She is doing great lifting her arm and playing." He said she should be lifting her arm. Her arm is not broken it is her wrist." My jawed dropped and my heart broke. I knew something wasn't right, but when that was confirmed it really hurt. The doctor was great and assured us it would heal beautifully and said it was by accident that they even caught it because they were not suppose to take the xray of her wrist. We know it wasn't an accident that God was making sure our little girl was taken care of. We left the ER at 12:30am with a very sad and tired girl who had a splint on her arm (top pic.)

This morning to a specialist for a full arm cast. He also assured us that this was common and would heal beautifully. She is fast asleep right now. Madison went with grandma to play group and I hear she is very sad about sissy's arm.

Caroline's wrist will heal and my heart will too, it is just so hard to see your little ones hurt.

I agree with Deb, you are a GREAT mom! These things happen so fast and you just wish you could take them back. It's probably as hard on you as it is on C. She's so young, at least she won't remember it later. We are also praying for you. Both of you :)

Oh I'm so sorry Kim! I just got done reading about Jen's little one falling off the bed too! It is so hard to see our little innocent ones hurt but at least she has an awesome mom and family to care for her. You're in our prayers as well.
